George Jacobs, 91, of Duluth, died Saturday, May 29, 2004. George was born in Portland, Ore., and as an infant, moved to Superior, Wis. He graduated from UWS and was to start law school but because of an illness to his father, he quit to take over the family business, Duluth Paint and Glass, which he owned and operated with his brother Eddie until they retired in 1983. George is preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Etta Jacobs, and sister, Ether Lee. George is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Geraldine; son Howard (Denise) Jacobs, Palm Springs, Calif., and daughter, Gail (Ross) Jacobs Cohen, Eden Prairie, Minn. he will be deeply missed by his grandchildren, Janee, Grant, and Rachel Jacobs, and Elizabeth and Jessica Cohen, his brother Eddie Jacobs, and very special friends, David and Kate Lawler. A special thanks to his care givers Donna, Terri, Ritva, and Barbara, and to the caring staff at Hillcrest Rehab Center in Wayzata, and Eden Prairie Dialysis. SERVICE:1:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 1, at Temple Israel 2324 Emerson Ave. S. SHIVA 17662 Sheffield Lane, Eden Prairie (Tuesday evening only 7 p.m.). In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the donor's choice. Arrangements by Hodroff and Sons.
